Dear readers,

today, i would speak about the Theatre of “Villa Torlonia”, site in the homonymous villa. Commissioned by Alessandro Torlonia for his wedding, was started building around 1840, but only in 1871 was completed, because of a series of delays and problems that have succeeded. Unfortunately, since ‘900, after the use of the “Villa” was sold to Benito Mussolini, the theatre was slowly leaving in state of neglect, and additionally degraded in the second war world. At least, lasts years, thanks to the agreement betwtin “Comune di Roma” and the Pirelli Culture, the theatre was completely renovated, so that to have been inaugurated December 7 th 2013.

Now you’re asking…i wrong the blog? I’m on Hystory channel? Nothing at all…i just gave you some hystorical information about the location where i had my shooting. Rome is a symbol place, and is rich of monuments and hystory, and so, i decided to tell you of Rome with the photos, but also with some curiosities in more than can make to know to whom doesn’t live in this marvelous city his hidden sides…

Cari lettori,

quest’oggi vi parlo di una delle tante meraviglie che si trovano a Roma…il teatro di Villa Torlonia, sito nell’omonima villa.

Commissionato da Alessandro Torlonia per le sue nozze, il teatro fu iniziato a costruire intorno al 1840, ma solo nel 1871 fu ultimato, a causa di una serie di impedimenti e rallentamenti che si sono succeduti. Purtroppo, a partire dai primi anni del 900, dopo che l’uso della villa fu ceduto a Benito Mussolini, il teatro pian piano fu lasciato in stato di abbandono, ed ulteriormente degradato con l’occupazione degli alleati durante la seconda guerra mondiale.

Fortunatamente, negli ultimi anni, grazie ad un accordo del Comune di Roma il Gruppo Cultura Pirelli, il teatro è stato completamente ristrutturato, fino ad essere stato di nuovo inaugurato il 7 dicembre 2013.

Ora, vi starete chiedendo…ho sbagliato blog? Sono su History channel? No…nulla di tutto ciò, ho solamente voluto “condire” il mio ultimo shooting, con qualche informazione storica del luogo in cui sono state scattate le foto.

Certamente Roma è uno dei luoghi simbolo in fatto di storia e monumenti e così, ho pensato di raccontarvi, con le foto, ma anche con qualche curiosità in più questa meravigliosa città ed i suoi lati più nascosti…
